Registration for 2021 Heck of the North Production Events

Hi!

We are planning on opening all events (Le Grand du Nord, “Bikepacking Event” (new name pending!) and The Heck of the North) on February 1, 2021. We are currently building out a new online registration platform. We are also delaying registration this year due to Covid 19. We will continue to monitor the pandemic situation in order to provide the safest events possible. Obviously, we played it conservatively and canceled all of the events for 2020. We are hopeful that 2021 will be safer…so we will plan and try to keep our communities and neighbors as healthy as possible.

In the meanwhile, thank you for your patience, support and good will. Our goal this year is to welcome new cyclists to this beautiful sport. Especially, encouraging those who may not have felt welcome before, for whatever reason. I ask you to be on the lookout for someone that might be ready for the greatness that is gravel cycling up North. We will be adding a financial incentive to do this, as well. Thanks for your help!

Refunds and Rides

Oh this week. I should be out on course. Marking the odd snowmobile trail. Riding through the yellow light of Fall on the backroads of the North Shore. Worrying about the cue cards. So it goes.

Instead, refund checks are done and in the mail today. If there are any issues, either with the amount or pushing it ahead to 2021, just email and I will try to make it right. Thanks for your patience!

There are rumors that there may be a few people riding the backroads of the North Shore this weekend. One of them might even be me. Please remember these things:

  • There is no official Heck of the North event this year. If you happen to be riding roads associated with past events, please acknowledge that you are doing your own thing!

  • I will not be supplying cue cards from past events. There are many reasons for this. Thank you for respecting this.

  • If, indeed, you see other local folk on the roads this weekend, please be great gravel cycling citizens. Some may just assume the event is occurring. I would hate there to be bad feelings created on this weirdest of years. Thank you for respecting this!

  • Please be welcoming to ALL new cyclists you might see on the roads this Fall. We are making a concerted effort to encourage cyclists of all ages, all colors, all backgrounds to experience the joy that comes from riding a bicycle. I invite you to invite someone new to this beautiful sport.

We are planning for a seriously good 2021. With some luck and healthy living, I am hopeful we will get there.

Be in touch and Ride the Good Line

Sincerely Yours
