Camping

We will provide free, pre-event camping at the Finland/Clair Nelson Community Center on Thursday, July 9. Camping locations in Ely on July 10 and Grand Marais on July 11 are part of the event and organized by the event director. You do not have to reserve any camping for The Wolf Bikepacking Race.

  • We recommend either an ultralight tent, tarp (with bug net) or a bivy for camping. We strongly advise against hammocks for the sole reason of limited places to hang them.

  • We often get thunderstorms this time of the year. Be prepared for some sort of rain coverage for your sleeping system.

  • All participants are required to carry their own sleep systems for the race. If you have a question about this, please email Jeremy at jeremybkershaw@gmail.com

  • We understand that ultralight camping gear is expensive. We are working out a lending or renting system for The Wolf. Stay tuned and don’t hesitate to email Jeremy
